Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees, including weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cycles.
- Verify payroll data, including timecards, leave balances, and tax status.
- Prepare and distribute pay stubs and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay and deductions.
- Ensure precise calculation of gross pay, taxes, garnishments, and benefits contributions.
- Maintain organized, confidential payroll files and records.
- Assist with year-end reporting, W-2 preparation, and tax filings.
- Reconcile payroll bank accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing or accounting.
- Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or similar) is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and management.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial data.
