Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 200+ employees using ADP Workforce Now
- Calculate and garnish wage deductions for taxes, benefits, and child support
- Ensure compliance with federal/state labor laws (FLSA, FLSA, VA Wage Payment Act)
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries within 24 hours
- Prepare quarterly tax filings (941, 940, state unemployment)
- Maintain confidential payroll records and audit trail documentation
- Collaborate with HR on new hire onboarding and termination processing
Qualifications
- 3+ years of US payroll processing experience
- ADP Workforce Now certification strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations (VA, MD, NC)
- Proficient in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and payroll software
- CPP or FPC certification a plus
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Associate's degree in Accounting/Business or equivalent experience
- Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines under pressure
