As a Payroll Clerk, you will be the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring that our employees are paid accurately and on time. We are looking for a candidate who is not only proficient in payroll software but also possesses a deep understanding of compliance regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately calculate and process weekly and monthly payroll for all employees using ADP, ensuring timely disbursement.
- Compliance Management: Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA regulations and Nevada tax requirements.
- Timekeeping Administration: Review and verify time cards, timesheets, and leave requests to resolve discrepancies before processing.
- Tax Filing: Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns with the Nevada Department of Taxation and IRS.
- Employee Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding pay stubs, deductions, and benefits.
- Reporting & Auditing: Generate detailed payroll reports for management and conduct regular audits of payroll records for accuracy.
- Benefits Administration: Assist in the coordination of payroll deductions for health, dental, and retirement plans.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role.
- Software Proficiency: Expert proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy when handling sensitive financial data and numbers.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex payroll information clearly to staff.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot payroll errors and resolve them efficiently.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of state and federal tax laws.
