Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees using [Software Name] to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculate gross pay, deductions (taxes, benefits, 401k), and net pay according to established policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including timesheets and leave balances.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll tax filings with the Indiana Department of Revenue and IRS.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including open enrollment and enrolling new hires.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Assist in the annual audit preparation and month-end close processes.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian.
- Strong working knowledge of state and federal payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and payroll systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
