Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using [System Name], ensuring accuracy in gross pay, deductions, and net pay.
- Prepare and file federal and state payroll tax returns (Form 941, state quarterly returns) in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in status, address, and tax withholding information.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding pay stubs, tax forms, and deductions.
- Assist in the reconciliation of payroll bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
- Ensure compliance with FLSA regulations and other labor laws.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role.
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks) is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
