Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Process and maintain payroll records for a small team of employees.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and general ledger reports.
- Assist with year-end tax preparation and financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Provide exceptional support to clients regarding budget inquiries and financial planning.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role (1-3 years preferred).
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Macros).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies quickly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
