Responsibilities
- Manage monthly bookkeeping and financial statement preparation for 15-20 SMB clients
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with federal/state tax regulations
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger entries
- Prepare sales/use tax filings and sales tax returns
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and variance analysis
- Maintain organized digital filing systems and client documentation
- Collaborate with senior accountants on special projects and audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with NYC tax regulations (NY State & NYC)
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
