Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with DC labor regulations
- Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking
- Support annual audits and tax preparation processes
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
- Collaborate with department heads on financial reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years of accounting experience with nonprofit or government sector
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and DC tax regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proven experience with financial reporting software
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
