Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for a diverse workforce of 100+ employees using industry-standard software (ADP, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Handle incoming employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax deductions, direct deposits, and time-off requests with patience and accuracy.
- Reconcile payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain and update employee personnel files and payroll records with high attention to detail.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end payroll reports.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies or errors promptly.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior payroll experience required. Previous data entry or customer service experience is highly preferred.
- Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is a plus) and familiarity with computerized accounting systems.
- Attributes: Strong mathematical aptitude, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with staff and management.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
