Responsibilities
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process, including preparing adjusting entries and trial balances.
- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare basic financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets, for management review.
- Support the audit process by gathering and organizing necessary documentation and schedules.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and assist with inventory valuation as needed.
- Assist with the preparation of sales and use tax filings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Candidate must be a recent graduate (0-2 years of experience) or possess relevant internship experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) required.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
