Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accurate data entry and invoice processing.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and general ledger entries.
- Process payroll using our accounting software and ensure compliance with New York state regulations.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for tax documents and financial records.
- Communicate with clients and vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer accounting inquiries.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is a plus, but not required (we train the right candidates).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables are a plus).
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or Xero is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot errors in numerical data.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
