About the Role
As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of potential and existing clients. You will analyze financial statements, assess risk factors, and provide recommendations to the underwriting team to ensure sound lending practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis on loan applications and existing client accounts to determine creditworthiness.
- Review and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to assess risk exposure.
- Prepare and maintain accurate credit files, reports, and risk assessments in the company database.
- Collaborate with the underwriting and lending teams to approve or decline credit applications based on established policies.
- Monitor client accounts for any signs of financial distress and proactively manage risk.
- Generate detailed credit memos and recommendations for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or financial risk assessment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP) and financial modeling software.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and internal teams.
