We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our dynamic team in Laredo, TX. In this pivotal role, you will oversee regulatory frameworks and ensure our operations adhere to local, state, and federal laws. While based in Laredo, this position offers a remote-friendly work environment, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities
- Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay abreast of evolving laws in trade, finance, and labor to ensure our policies remain current and compliant.
- Conduct Internal Audits: Perform regular audits of our processes and documentation to identify potential non-compliance issues before they escalate.
- Develop Policies: Create and implement comprehensive compliance manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored to our business needs.
- Investigate Violations: Thoroughly investigate reported incidents of non-compliance and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Training & Education: Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure everyone understands their compliance responsibilities and company policies.
- Reporting: Prepare accurate reports for internal leadership and external regulatory bodies as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance, auditing, or regulatory affairs.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of US federal and state regulations relevant to the region.
- Skills: Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Remote Work: Proven ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid setting.
