Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program that aligns with federal, state, and local laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, False Claims Act).
- Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
- Monitor changes in healthcare regulations and ensure that policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
- Investigate and resolve compliance-related incidents, including conducting root cause analyses and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide training and education to staff on compliance policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies and senior management.
- Collaborate with legal and human resources departments to address compliance issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Legal Studies, or a related field is required.
- 3+ years of experience in a compliance, risk management, or auditing role within the healthcare or financial services industry.
- Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant healthcare regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Professional certification such as CPHIMS, CHC, or CRCR is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
