Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements to advise the management team on necessary adjustments to business practices.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities, audit reports, and corrective action plans.
- Provide training and guidance to staff members on compliance-related matters, best practices, and ethical standards.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues, escalating significant risks to senior management immediately.
- Represent the company in meetings with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in compliance, auditing, risk management, or a related regulatory function.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEC regulations, HIPAA, OSHA, or industry-specific compliance laws).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory text and translate it into actionable business policies.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software.
