Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical insurance claims (CMS-1500) for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Manage the revenue cycle, including posting payments, adjustments, and managing accounts receivable.
- Follow up on denied or delayed claims to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Communicate professionally with patients, insurance carriers, and third-party payers regarding billing inquiries and outstanding balances.
- Reconcile daily bank deposits and financial reports to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Maintain and organize accurate billing records and patient files in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth experience is a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
