Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end billing processes including invoice generation, payment posting, and account reconciliations
- Resolve billing discrepancies and complex payment issues with clients and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure contract terms align with billing practices
- Prepare monthly/quarterly billing reports and financial analytics for leadership review
- Maintain compliance with healthcare billing regulations (HIPAA) and industry standards
- Implement process improvements to enhance billing efficiency and reduce AR days
- Train junior staff on billing systems and best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in medical or professional services billing
- Proficiency in billing software (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar) and MS Office Suite
- Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) or equivalent preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication abilities for client-facing interactions
- Experience with AR management and collections processes
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Knowledge of Maryland healthcare compliance requirements
