Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end billing process, including invoicing, posting payments, and applying credits accurately.
- Review and resolve outstanding account balances and discrepancies to minimize days sales outstanding (DSO).
- Communicate professionally with patients and insurance carriers to resolve billing inquiries and payment issues.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly statements and financial reports for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and ensure all billing records are compliant with state and federal regulations.
- Identify trends in billing errors and collaborate with the team to implement process improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in billing, collections, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with billing software (e.g., Cerner, Epic, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.
