Responsibilities
- Manage and process invoices and billing statements accurately and in a timely manner to ensure timely payments.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable (AR) to minimize outstanding balances and improve cash flow.
- Review and resolve billing discrepancies, errors, and denied claims promptly to prevent revenue leakage.
- Communicate professionally with clients, patients, and insurance providers to address billing inquiries and resolve payment issues.
- Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports and ledgers to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and patient information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Stay updated on changing healthcare regulations, payer rules, and billing codes to ensure full compliance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or accounts receivable.
- Proficiency with billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential).
- Strong knowledge of healthcare payer rules, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
