We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist to join our dynamic finance team in the heart of Seattle. As part of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and maintaining healthy cash flow. You will be the bridge between our clients and the billing process, ensuring every transaction is processed efficiently and correctly.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify the accuracy of invoices, billing statements, and patient/client accounts before posting.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and delinquent accounts to ensure timely payment.
- Process payments, adjustments, and credits accurately using our billing software.
- Reconcile daily transactions and maintain detailed, organized records of all financial activities.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and questions.
- Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical or technical billing.
- Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is a must).
- Strong knowledge of billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) and insurance verification processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to detect errors in complex data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
