The Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring all employees are compensated accurately and on time. You will work closely with HR and Finance to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for all employees (direct deposit and checks) with 100% accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly and annual payroll reports, including pay stubs and W-2s.
  • Manage payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual returns, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Process payroll adjustments, retroactive pay, garnishments, and deductions accurately.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to resolve timekeeping discrepancies and employee inquiries regarding pay.
  • Maintain and update payroll records and databases using ADP or similar software.
  • Assist in month-end close processes related to payroll expenses.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role.
  • Proficient in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks) is highly required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll tax filings.
