Job Overview:
The Weekend Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the finance department during peak reporting periods. This role is ideal for those who prefer a structured work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and general ledger entries.
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
- Ensure all financial documentation is organized, secure, and compliant with company policies.
- Collaborate with the senior finance team to optimize financial processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on payroll or month-end close.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during weekend shifts.
