Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with accurate reporting
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations in Washington DC
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Collaborate with auditors during annual reviews and implement audit recommendations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes with timely deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with public or corporate sector
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and accounting software
- Deep understanding of GAAP and Washington DC tax regulations
- Proven ability to manage complex financial reporting cycles
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Remote work experience with demonstrated self-management capabilities
