Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
- Process payroll transactions and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Prepare and generate monthly financial reports, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
- Assist with the preparation of annual tax returns and tax documentation.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure they are in accordance with federal and state laws.
- Organize and file financial documents, receipts, and invoices for easy retrieval.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to Detroit branch offices as needed.
