Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal/state tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Conduct tax research and ensure compliance with IRS/Alaska regulations
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies and deductions
- Utilize tax software (ProSeries/Lacerte) for efficient processing
- Collaborate with senior associates on complex tax cases
- Maintain accurate client documentation and audit trails
- Represent clients during IRS inquiries and audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
- 1+ years of tax preparation experience preferred
- Alaska state tax law certification (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Attention to detail with financial data
- Ability to start immediately
