Role Overview:
As a Tax Associate, you will play a crucial role in preparing and analyzing tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients. We are looking for someone who is analytical, client-focused, and eager to contribute to our success.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals and corporations, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax laws and regulations to provide accurate guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Review complex tax returns for accuracy, identify potential errors, and implement tax-saving strategies.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax status, required documentation, and payment schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, tax provision workpapers, and supporting schedules.
- Utilize tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, ProSeries) efficiently to manage high-volume caseloads.
- Collaborate with senior staff on audits and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
- 1-3 years of progressive experience in public accounting or corporate tax preparation.
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA licensure is a strong plus.
- Proficiency with industry-standard tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel advanced functions preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and tax codes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on client service.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
