Responsibilities
- Assist clients in gathering and organizing necessary financial documents and tax records.
- Prepare individual and small business federal and state income tax returns using industry-standard software.
- Review all tax documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before filing.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain tax laws, answer questions, and provide financial advice.
- File tax returns with the IRS and relevant state agencies by established deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in our secure database system.
- Collaborate with senior tax associates and management to resolve complex tax issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred but not strictly required (equivalent experience considered).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect errors in data entry and calculations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex topics simply.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client meetings (if applicable).
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.
