Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Conduct thorough tax planning and research to ensure compliance with current tax laws.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation and answer tax-related inquiries.
- Review financial statements and tax schedules to identify potential discrepancies or optimization opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during examinations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and apply them to client scenarios.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or EA certification preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation, auditing, or public accounting.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software such as Drake, Lacerte, or ProSystem fx Tax.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
