Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and corporate federal and state tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065) with high accuracy and strict adherence to deadlines.
- Conduct in-depth research on complex tax codes and regulations to ensure full compliance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain tax liabilities, answer inquiries, and provide strategic tax planning advice.
- Assist senior staff in tax audit preparation and responses to inquiries from the IRS and state tax authorities.
- Utilize tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte) to streamline the filing process and maintain client records.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure seamless integration of tax data into financial statements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is highly preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation, corporate or individual taxation.
- Proficiency in tax software and accounting applications (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license is required for potential client travel within the region.
