Responsibilities
- Analyze creditworthiness of commercial and individual borrowers using financial statements, cash flow projections, and industry benchmarks
- Prepare detailed credit risk reports with actionable recommendations for loan approval/modification
- Monitor existing portfolio performance and identify early warning signs of potential defaults
- Collaborate with loan officers to structure optimal financing solutions aligned with risk appetite
- Stay current on regulatory changes (FIRREA, BSA, etc.) and implement compliance protocols
- Lead cross-functional meetings to present risk assessments and portfolio insights
- Develop and maintain automated credit scoring models using Excel and SQL
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA/CFA preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial credit analysis experience in banking/lending institutions
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling (DCF, LBO, ratio analysis) and Excel
- Deep understanding of credit risk frameworks and loan covenants
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for stakeholder presentations
- Certification (CRCM, CMB) or relevant continuing education
- Experience with credit underwriting software (e.g., Moody's RiskCal, FICO)
