Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation and explain tax findings.
- Utilize tax preparation software to ensure all filings meet current federal and state regulations.
- Perform data entry and maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
- Assist in the resolution of discrepancies and audit inquiries.
- Stay updated on changing tax laws and implement necessary process improvements.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Previous experience in tax preparation is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of tax software (e.g., Drake, Lacerte, ProSeries).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to detect errors in complex data.
- Self-motivated individual capable of managing a flexible and remote-friendly schedule.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a client-focused attitude.
