Role Overview:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting in month-end close processes. You will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of our clients and organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform bank reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure financial data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Support the accounting team with tax preparation filings and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the annual audit process by providing requested documentation and schedules.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) to streamline financial workflows.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or candidate in good standing is a plus but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and accounting software.
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
