Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and maintain monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and detect discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the full cycle of accounts payable processing and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collection.
- Payroll: Assist in the monthly payroll processing, ensuring all tax withholdings and benefits deductions are calculated accurately.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Audit Support: Provide documentation and support to external auditors during annual audits and internal reviews.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience in general accounting or auditing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Organization: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
