Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for over 200+ employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for semi-monthly cycles.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including FLSA regulations and California-specific requirements.
  • Calculate and process payroll taxes, including quarterly and annual filings with state and federal agencies.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies, garnishments, and complex deduction inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to maintain accurate employee data and update records as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly/quarterly payroll reports for management review.
  • Assist with internal and external payroll audits to ensure transparency and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a high-volume or multi-state environment.
  • Proficient with major payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paylocity, or Ceridian) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining payroll policies to employees clearly.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
