Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals and corporations, ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance with IRS and state regulations.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to advise clients on tax-saving strategies and potential liabilities.
- Manage year-end tax projects, including 1120, 1065, and 1040 filings, with a focus on high-net-worth clients.
- Client communication and relationship management, acting as the primary point of contact for tax inquiries and audits.
- Stay current on tax law changes and implement necessary updates into firm processes.
- Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on technical tax issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree (MSA, MST) preferred.
- Certification: CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in tax preparation and planning.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Drake, CCH, ProSystem fx) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines during tax season.
