Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for 10-15 mid-sized clients including AP/AR, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements with variance analysis
- Oversee payroll processing and tax compliance for North Carolina-based clients
- Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures with strict adherence to GAAP
- Implement and optimize accounting software solutions (QuickBooks Online, Xero)
- Provide strategic financial consulting to clients during growth phases
- Maintain organized digital client files and ensure audit readiness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with remote work exposure
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Microsoft Excel
- Deep understanding of North Carolina tax regulations and compliance
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills for client relationship management
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP) a significant plus
