Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial transactions: Accurately record accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements: Perform monthly reconciliations to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Prepare financial reports: Generate and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for management review.
- Handle payroll processing: Manage payroll calculations, tax filings, and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Tax preparation support: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax returns for clients.
- Maintain accounting records: Ensure all financial documents are organized, archived, and compliant with audit requirements.
- Client communication: Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries regarding financial statements and reports.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and/or Xero. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are essential.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP and basic tax regulations.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Organization: Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple client accounts effectively.
