Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 300+ employees across 5 states using ADP Workforce Now
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations (FLSA, FICA, VA state laws)
- Manage garnishments, deductions, and tax withholdings with 100% accuracy
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare quarterly/year-end tax filings (941s, W-2s, 1099s)
- Implement payroll process improvements and audit controls to reduce errors
- Provide payroll support during audits and resolve employee payroll inquiries
- Collaborate with HR on new hire onboarding and payroll-related benefits administration
Qualifications
- 5+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience
- Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar HCM systems
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or PHR certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of federal/state payroll tax laws and labor regulations
- Proficient in Excel with advanced formula skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Proven track record of zero-error payroll processing for 250+ employees
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with audit experience
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration
