Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Accurately calculate and process payroll for all employees on a bi-weekly basis, including hourly, salaried, and commissioned staff.
- Compliance Management: Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and labor laws.
- Data Accuracy: Review timecards, leave requests, and deduction records to ensure 100% accuracy before processing.
- Reporting & Filing: Prepare and file necessary payroll tax forms (W-2s, 1099s) and generate comprehensive payroll reports for management.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries regarding pay stubs, direct deposits, and tax documents.
- System Maintenance: Maintain and update employee payroll files and assist with the implementation of new payroll software.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a proven track record of maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex payroll information clearly to staff and management.
- Certification: PHR or CPP certification is a plus but not mandatory.
