Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, market trends, and industry risks to assess creditworthiness of corporate clients
- Prepare detailed credit reports and recommendations for loan committees and senior leadership
- Monitor existing loan portfolios for compliance with covenants and identify early warning signals
- Develop and maintain robust risk mitigation strategies for high-value transactions
- Collaborate with commercial banking teams to structure optimal financing solutions
- Stay current on regulatory changes (FCA, OCC, FDIC) and implement compliance protocols
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous improvement of credit methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA/CFA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive credit analysis experience in commercial banking or financial services
- Expert proficiency in financial modeling (DCF, LBO) and risk assessment frameworks
- Advanced Excel skills with VBA/macros; SQL and Python experience highly valued
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and credit underwriting principles
- Exceptional analytical thinking with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Experience with credit origination systems (e.g., Moody's RiskCal, Moody's CreditEdge)
