Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements with high accuracy.
- Accounts Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to ensure all transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and collecting outstanding receivables.
- Payroll Administration: Assist in payroll processing and ensure compliance with local and federal tax regulations.
- Compliance & Audits: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls. Prepare documentation for external audits.
- Bookkeeping Systems: Utilize and optimize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) to streamline financial workflows and data entry.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all journal entries and adjustments are posted in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) are essential.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US tax laws and financial reporting standards.
