Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts and financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L) for internal review.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments.
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Organize and maintain physical and digital financial records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Prepare basic tax documents and assist the external accountant during tax season.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional certification (e.g., CPAs, CMA, or AAAs).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and local tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and rectify them quickly.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and present it clearly.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
