Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team in Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for the full-cycle bookkeeping process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards. You will serve as a key partner to our management team, providing insightful financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, including the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statement.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal entries and accruals.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
- Process payroll data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Deep understanding of GAAP and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
