Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile multi-entity general ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles, including vendor payments and client invoicing
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for executive review
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Implement and maintain internal controls for financial data integrity
- Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation documentation
- Train junior accounting staff on financial systems and procedures
- Optimize accounting workflows using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Excel
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification preferred
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and Illinois state tax regulations
- Experience with multi-location accounting systems and intercompany reconciliations
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify financial discrepancies
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and reporting accuracy
