The Role:
We are looking for an experienced professional to oversee our day-to-day bookkeeping operations. You will be the guardian of our financial data, ensuring our books are balanced and our reporting is precise. Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and categorized.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure data integrity and identify discrepancies promptly.
- AP/AR Management: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including issuing invoices and managing vendor relationships.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and local tax laws in Louisiana.
- Software Administration: Manage and update financial software, including QuickBooks Online or Xero, and train staff on new features.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within a professional services firm or corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage 50; strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) required.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification: ACPA (Associate Certified Bookkeeper) or CPA license is a strong plus.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
