Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers and reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll cycles
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations
- Oversee month-end closing procedures and journal entries
- Implement and optimize accounting software workflows
- Collaborate with tax professionals during audit seasons
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Pro
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor preferred
- Experience with multi-entity accounting systems
- Strong understanding of sales tax compliance (MI)
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
