Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll records
- Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements with detailed variance analysis
- Manage bank reconciliations and ensure compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes including journal entries and adjustments
- Collaborate with CPAs during audits and provide supporting documentation
- Implement and optimize accounting software systems (QuickBooks Online, Xero)
- Lead cross-departmental financial reporting initiatives for executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Proven expertise in full-cycle accounting for multi-entity organizations
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing accounting teams and implementing process improvements
- Deep understanding of Illinois sales tax regulations and payroll compliance
