Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end medical billing processes including CPT/ICD-10 coding, claim submission, and AR follow-up
- Resolve complex insurance claim denials and patient billing inquiries within SLAs
- Reconcile accounts receivable and maintain aging reports using Epic EMR systems
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Analyze billing trends and implement process improvements to reduce claim rejection rates
- Train staff on billing protocols and new regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) preferred
- Expert proficiency in Epic Resolute, NextGen, or similar EMR billing modules
- Advanced knowledge of UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim forms
- Strong data analysis skills with ability to reconcile complex discrepancies
- Exceptional communication skills for resolving high-stakes billing disputes
- Experience with RCM optimization and denial management best practices
