Responsibilities
- Optimize charge capture and coding accuracy for complex insurance claims across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Conduct root cause analysis of claim denials and implement process improvements reducing denial rates by 25%+
- Lead month-end closing procedures including reconciliation of accounts receivable and variance reporting
- Mentor junior billing specialists on RCM best practices and compliance protocols (HIPAA, CMS guidelines)
- Collaborate with clinical departments to resolve billing discrepancies and documentation gaps
- Develop and maintain billing dashboards for executive leadership review
- Represent billing department during quarterly audits and regulatory inspections
Qualifications
- 5+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience with 2+ years in specialized billing roles
- Expert knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding, ICD-10-CM, and CMS-1500 forms
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) credentials
- Advanced proficiency in Epic Resolute and NextGen RCM platforms
- Proven track record of reducing A/R days by 30+ days through strategic intervention
- Experience managing high-volume claim portfolios (5,000+ claims/month)
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex contractual terms
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field
