Responsibilities
- Manage daily general ledger accounting operations and perform accurate reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring full compliance with GAAP.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly tax filings and annual audits, working closely with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring all invoices are verified, approved, and paid on time.
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation logs.
- Monitor budget variances and provide detailed reporting to management on financial performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or public accounting.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
- Deep understanding of New York State tax regulations and federal compliance standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
